Hi, I’m Rosie, the sarcastic brain behind what you read on Not just a Mom!
When I got pregnant in 2017, I soon realized I was doing absolutely everything wrong. According to everyone else, that is.
My son Benjamin was born in February 2018 and with him came a whole new level of advice, judgment, and #momsplaining. I learned there is nothing I am doing right and my life as I knew it was over forever. My mother in law literally told me to throw away all of my makeup because I wouldn’t “need it anymore once the baby is born”.
According to almost everyone, I should give up on being my own person and focus on being just a mom.
Sarcasm aside, motherhood is bloody hard on its own. Moms really don’t need everyone else around us listing the things they think we are doing wrong. You know what we do need, though? A support system, judgment-free people around us and someone to tell us we’re doing a fucking good job.
And maybe the most important thing: someone to remind us we’re more than just a mom.
Not just a Mom
Not just a Mom is my personal blog about (you guessed it) being more than just a mom. This is a space for parents to connect, support each other and have a laugh at the expense of real-life stories from my own life.
There are 1001 ways to raise children who will turn into amazing grown-ups, all of them without losing yourself as a woman.
Stay for a while and share your experiences with me!
