Review – MAC Prep&Prime BB Cream

I have been looking for a foundation that won’t attach to my dry patches. While I haven’t found one yet, I did however decide to give the new MAC Prep&Prime BB cream a try! I went to the local Douglas and talked to the lovely MAC sales assistant and explained I was somewhat scared of buying yet another foundation only for it to end not working out for me. That’s when she mentioned the Prep&Prime BB cream!

It’s a BB cream primer, actually. So, it’s a primer that has a bit of color to it and is in a very moisturizing and soft formula. I decided to give it a go. Wanna know what I thought of it? Keep on reading!

The packaging itself is black and sleek with the words written on the lid. Inside you can find a sponge, that I only ever use if I’m on the go and need to touch up – which almost never happens! It does not have a heavy smell to it.

It looks a lot darker on the picture as it is in real life (I have the lightest shade – light plus). You can apply it with the sponge, with a brush or even your (CLEAN!!!) hands. I’ve used it with a sponge and with a brush and can say that I prefer the sponge, as I feel it doesn’t drag on my skin.

I will use it as a primer or on its own. Since it does have some tint to it, I can get away with using it on its own, if I don’t want much coverage or if I just want a hint of color and the added moisture.

I can tell you it applies very well! On the picture above you can see how it looks before it’s blended. Below you can see how it actually looks when blended – which is very dewy! It gives you a healthy glow, that’s for sure!

It costs around 30€ and you have about 5 shades to choose from. As I mentioned, I wear the lightest one, but I do believe it does adapt a bit to the skin tone. I really feel it works good as a primer, it makes my foundation last longer and gives me the dewiness that I so desperately need.

If you can afford to buy it, I would tell you to give it a try! Has any of you ever tried this primer/BB cream? Let me know what you think!
